MEP BIM Coordination > Data center > Ireland

Project Snapshot

Project type: Data Center

Location: Ireland

Client type: Data Center Operator / EPC

Project phase: Design + Construction

BIM services: Full MEP coordination, asset-ready BIM delivery

Disciplines: Architecture, Structure, MEPF

Software: Revit, Navisworks, ACC

The Challenge

  1. The project involved extreme MEP density typical of mission-critical data center environments.
  2. Tight spatial constraints within plant-rooms, containment routes, and technical areas.
  3. High risk of clashes impacting installation sequencing and program certainty.
  4. Strict client requirements around data accuracy, asset information, and BIM governance.

Our BIM Approach

  1. We established a data center–specific BIM Execution Plan, aligned with ISO 19650 and client standards.
  2. Delivered coordinated LOD 350–400 BIM models, with a strong focus on high-risk MEP zones.
  3. Implemented weekly, KPI-driven coordination cycles to track and control clash resolution.
  4. Maintained rigorous model governance to ensure consistency, accuracy, and asset readiness.
  5. Produced installation-ready outputs including spools and containment layouts to support site execution.

Results & Impact

  1. Resolved 1,500+ coordination clashes prior to installation.
  2. Improved constructability and installation confidence in congested technical areas.
  3. Reduced risk of site delays and rework in a mission-critical environment.
  4. Supported smoother progression from design into construction.

Value Delivered

  1. Acted as a specialist BIM partner for data center delivery.
  2. Enabled predictable outcomes through early risk identification and resolution.
  3. Delivered asset-ready BIM models supporting long-term operations.
  4. Demonstrated proven capability in handling high-density, high-risk MEP coordination.
